While we're discussing swap files, I'm wondering what the size of the file might indicate. My WIN386.SWP file is always around 24 megs or so. I have 32 megs of RAM. If I increased the RAM to, say 64 meg, would the size of the swap file drop? Would this give better performance? Is this a dumb question?

So your chances of successfully recovering this file are decent if you try recovering it immediately after deleting it, and rapidly go downhill from there.
